Type: Static stretch
Suitable for: Flexibility, Cool down
The Triceps Stretch is a simple exercise that targets the muscles at the back of your upper arms. It’s excellent for relieving tension after upper-body workouts and for improving flexibility in your arms.
Directions
- Extend right arm straight up overhead.
- Bend the elbow of your right arm, placing the hand on your upper back.
- With your left hand, gently apply a light pressure onto the bent elbow to deepen the stretch.
- Hold the stretch for at least 5 deep breaths, then switch to the left arm and repeat.
Helpful hints
- Gentle pressure: Apply just enough pressure to feel a stretch without forcing it. Over-pulling can cause strain.
- Relaxed shoulders: Keep your shoulders relaxed and down to avoid tensing up, which can lower the effectiveness of the stretch.
