How to do Side stretch

The Side Stretch is a simple way to stretch and loosen up the sides of your body. It helps improve flexibility in your torso and is great for relieving tension in your back and sides, making it perfect for warming up or cooling down.

Directions

  1. Stand tall with your feet shoulder-width apart and your hands on your hips.
  2. Slowly bend your torso to the right, keeping your feet flat on the ground and your hips facing forward.
  3. Feel the stretch along the left side of your body.
  4. Hold the stretch for a moment, then return to the center and repeat on the left side.

Helpful hints

  • Go easy: Don’t force the stretch. Start gently and increase the stretch as your body loosens up.
  • Stay straight: Make sure to bend directly to the side—don’t lean forward or backward.
  • Breathe deeply: Keep breathing normally to help your muscles relax during the stretch.
