Type: Cardio warm-up
Suitable for: Warm-up, Coordination
The High Knee March with Arms is a dynamic exercise that engages your whole body, making it an excellent choice for warming up before more intense activities. This exercise helps improve coordination and flexibility, while also boosting heart rate and engaging core muscles.
Directions
- Start standing tall with your feet hip-width apart and your arms stretched up towards the ceiling, aligned with your shoulders.
- Lift your right knee to waist level while simultaneously pulling your arms down to your sides.
- Return your right foot to the floor and arms back overhead.
- Repeat with your left knee, keeping the movements smooth and steady.
- Continue to alternate legs and arms.
Helpful hints
- Knee height: Lift your knees to a comfortable height—too high can strain your hips and back.
- Core engagement: Keep your core tight to help maintain balance and form throughout the exercise.
- Breathe right: Sync your breathing with your movements—inhale when you raise your arms, exhale as you lift your knee and pull your arms down.
