How to do Triceps stretch

Type: Static stretch
Suitable for: Flexibility, Cool down

The Triceps Stretch is a simple exercise that targets the muscles at the back of your upper arms. It’s excellent for relieving tension after upper-body workouts and for improving flexibility in your arms.

Directions

  1. Extend right arm straight up overhead.
  2. Bend the elbow of your right arm, placing the hand on your upper back.
  3. With your left hand, gently apply a light pressure onto the bent elbow to deepen the stretch.
  4. Hold the stretch for at least 5 deep breaths, then switch to the left arm and repeat.

Helpful hints

  • Gentle pressure: Apply just enough pressure to feel a stretch without forcing it. Over-pulling can cause strain.
  • Relaxed shoulders: Keep your shoulders relaxed and down to avoid tensing up, which can lower the effectiveness of the stretch.
